The excitation facility of the unit of Shahe Pumped Storage Power plant is imported with the main unit.It is a K4.0 field regu-lator made in ALSTOM, France.In this paper, the issues of the unit field regulator are studied and analyzed.And the regulator is suc-cessfully localized.In the localization, a couple of advanced technology and principles are implied so that the unit excitation performance is largely improved and its maintenance cost is reduced as well.
