The development of tourism industry in China shows that the bearing capacity of the tourism environment is a problem for the sustainable development of the tourism industry. The paper systematically reviews the research of theo-retical principles, methods of measurement, practical bearing capacity of the tourism environment in China and the pros-pect of the development trend, which is a summarization of the bearing capacity of tourism environment in China.
