A new technology was introduced on the treatment of mercury-containing waste hydrochloric acid with hydrogen sulfide in an efficient reactor .When the molar ratio of Hg2+ to S2 - was 1∶10 ,the cycle time of waste hydrochloric acid was 60 minutes ,the mecury concentration in the treated hydrochloric acid was lowered to 1 mg/L .The process was simple ,low in operating cost ,and had good environmental and economic benefits .
