The capacity requirement of transmission system is getting larger and larger because of the rapid growing of data ser-vice. In order to extend the capacity of transmission network, Wavelength Division Multiplexing(WDM) technology has been applied on basis of SDH. The maintenance of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing(DWDM) system is quite different from traditional SDH system. This paper introduces the key points of configuration and maintenance of DWDM system.
