多义词习得是英语词汇学习的重点也是难点之一。该研究以北方民族大学120名非英语专业本科生为实验对象，通过实证研究论证原型范畴理论对大学英语多义词教学的影响。实验结果表明1）基于原型范畴理论的大学英语多义词教学效果优于传统教学法。2）原型义项促进了其他边缘义项的习得，辅助以语义网络图，大幅提高了多义词记忆的效率。

Polysemy acquisition is one of the important and difficult points in English vocabulary learning. Based on the proto-type theory, an empirical study is conducted to 120 non-English majors of Beifang University of Nationalities to explore the im-portance of prototype theory in polysemous words teaching. The result shows that: 1) the application of prototype theory on pol-ysemous words teaching outperforms the traditional method;2) prototypical meaning helps the acquisition of peripheral senses.
