外语教学的最终目的是培养合格的跨文化交际人才,这就要求学生在具备外语语言知识的同时也要具备外语的语用能力,而传统的英语教学由于主要侧重于语法的讲解,对不同环境、不同国界的背景文化涉及有限,从而造成当前国内大学生跨文化语用能力普遍不高,对增强大学生综合竞争能力和拓展毕业生就业前景十分不利,因此在外语教学中着重培养学生的跨文化语用能力非常必要并且意义深远。

The ultimate goal of foreign language teaching is to cultivate qualified cross-cultural talents. So the college students are required to not only grasp knowledge of language but also have intercultural pragmatic competence. However, the traditional English teaching mainly focused on grammar explanations, involving a little about different environments or different cultural backgrounds. Therefore, the intercultural pragmatic competence of current college students is not high. This will be disadvanta-geous to college graduate enhancing competitiveness and expanding employment prospects. Thus it is necessary and signality to cultivate the intercultural pragmatic competence of college students in English teaching.
