Based on the physical geography, landforms, hydrological conditions, formation lithology and geological structure of Chongqing, the distribu-tion features and occurrence conditions of shallow geothermal energy are analyzed, including hydrological conditions, rock and soil physical features and heat physical features, thermal response features of rock and earth mass and shallow geothermal field characteristics. The suitability division of shallow geothermal energy in Chongqing is done with available resource amount of the shallow geothermal energy in Chongqing calculated.
