The constituent parts of the ground-source heat pump system are presented, as well as its process characteristics. Its advantages are compared to traditional coal-fired boiler for heating, combined with the engineering examples, proposing some energy-saving measures of the system economic operation. The measures include increasing the consumption proportions of the heat pump units in the whole system (70%~80%), minimizing the difference in temperature of the heat source side and load side under the con-dition of satisfy application, decreasing the system flow. In the practical operation of the system, three as-pects of the operation parameters should be adjusted according to the load change to ensure the system run-ning in the minimum energy consumption. Professional management will keep the stable running of the sys-tem and step-time running according to the load demand. The energy efficiency of the system is obvious, with price advantage compared with the central heating.
