戴维·赫伯特·劳伦斯是二十世纪英国诗坛上一位具有浓郁现代特色的杰出诗人,他的诗歌创作如同他的小说创作成就一样伟大。返朴归真,摈弃矫揉造作的格律,返回质朴清新的形式和自然率真的语汇是劳伦斯诗歌的一个重要特色。他使用日常自然口语的词汇、句法和节奏写诗,诗行却具有日常口语所没有的那种音乐感和抒情性。他以社会批判和心理学探索相结合的方式深刻地揭露了资本主义工业文明对自然和人性以及对人的价值的摧残。探索和研究了D. H.劳伦斯的诗歌创作风格,并通过几首作品的具体分析论证了劳伦斯的诗歌艺术具有品质率真、意象鲜明、感悟深邃的特点,该特点确保了劳伦斯诗作在现代诗歌史上的一席之位。

David Herbert Laurence is an outstanding British poet of the 20th century whose poetry has strong modern feature, they are as great as his novels. Recovering poem's original simplicity, abandoning the affectation of metrical, and returning the funky fresh form and spontaneous vocabulary are the most important features of Laurence's poetry. He used everyday spoken vocabulary, syntax and the rhythm in his poems, while his verses have the kind of musical and lyrical, which can not be found in daily spoken language. By combining social criticism and psychological exploration, he profoundly exposed the destruction of capitalist industrial civilization to the nature and humanity as well as the value of human. This paper gives a comprehensive exploration and research on Laurence's poetry, and especially through the analysis of several pieces of poetry, concludes that Laurence‘s poetry has the unique quality of frankness and genuineness with sharp images and insights, which ensures him an important place in the history of modern poetry.
