Biological aerated filter(BAF) has good effect on denitrification. The combination of BAF and new deni-trification theories has become a research hotspot in recent years. The application of traditional denitrification theo-ries and new denitrification theories to BAF is expounded in detail ,and their influencing factors are introduced. The research prospect of the denitrification in BAF is predicted and the existing problems are analyzed preliminarily. It is pointed out that applying new denitrification theories to BAF for the exploitation of low-consumption and high-effi-ciency denitrification technology is a good idea and has broad development prospects.
