The crystal seed decomposition is a key process in Bayer process, aluminium hydroxide with good quality and mother liquid with high caustic ratio can be gained by the crystal seed decomposition, so it can improve the efficiency of the Bayer cycle. In this paper, main factors to affect crystal seed decomposition in the Bayer process were described, how to control seed decomposition rate and particle size was discussed.
