Vegetable seeds (including melons, similarly hereinafter) are at the upstream of vegetable production chain. Breeding fine cultivars is not only important for improving vegetable yield and quality, but also for gaining the initiative in the vegetable market competition. This article analyzed the import situation of China in recent years, and gave some related suggestions on promoting the development of vegetable seeds industry of China.
