湖北纺织工业虽已形成了较为完整的产业体系，但近年来产业结构不尽合理、产业链不够完善、人才缺乏等问题制约了其快速健康的发展。在转型升级的关键时期，湖北要抓住国家纺织产业向中西部地区转移的机遇，充分发挥原料资源、交通、高校等方面的优势，调整产业结构，优化产业布局，使湖北省纺织工业健康稳定地发展。
