席勒的美育思想直接承袭了康德,他创造性地把康德人是目的的纯粹理性教育命题转化为包含健全理性和意志自由特质的现实审美人格追求。通过审美教育,审美人格吸取自然人格的感性多样性和道德人格的理性一体性于自身,成就为一种完整天性的更为高级的人格。在这种人格内部,审美自由是它的特质,而健全理性则是自由的属性和规则。审美自由虽然是一种消极的自由,并不建构什么,但是它却成为政治自由的前提和基础。在审美自由的烛照下,审美个体充分发挥自我意志的主观能动性,按照美的规律积极谋取建构“美的王国”的合理措施和策略。在改造自己和改造社会的实践进程中,席勒审美人格之广泛意义上的深刻政治蕴含或关怀得以充分彰显。

Schiller, whose aesthetic ideology is directly inherited from Kant, creatively transformed Kant's purely rational education purpose into a realistic pursuit of aesthetic personality with sound reason and freedom of the will.Through aesthet-ic education , aesthetic personality incorporates emotional diversity of a natural personality and rational unity of a moral per-sonality and consequently becomes a more senior personality with natural fullness.Aesthetic freedom is the unique character-istic of such a personality, and sound rationality is the attribute and rule of freedom.Although aesthetic freedom is negative in nature , for it does not construct anything , it is the premise and foundation of political freedom.With the guidance of aesthetic freedom , aesthetic individuals can give full play to the initiative of self-will and actively seek reasonable measures and strategies to construct "the beautiful kingdom"in accordance with the laws of beauty.Through the transformation of oneself and society, the profound political implications of Schiller's aesthetic personality in the broad sense become mani-fest.
