In this paper,taking the 8# main pier foundation construction of Akaishi Bridge in Ruchen expressway as an example,the construction of bridge pile foundation in karst area is described.Be-cause manual hole digging can not meet the normal demand for construction,the technology of me-chanical punching construction has achieved very good results,and provides a safe and reliable method of construction.It can also provide remarkable benefit for the similar geological conditions.
