全视野数字切片（whole slide image，WSI）有效地整合了计算机、互联网及医学技术，摆脱了病理实验教学对显微镜和切片的依赖，打破了时空限制，简化了教学手段，丰富了教学内容，明显提高了病理实验教学质量。WSI 使远程会诊方便、快捷，节约了人力和财力，缩短了会诊时间，明显提高了病理诊断质量。目前 WSI 在医学教育及诊断应用中仍有不足，有待于进一步发展、完善。

Whole slide image(WSI)integrates computer technology with internet technology and medical technology. It enables experiment teaching of pathology to shake off dependence on microscope and sections,breaks the limitation of time and space,facilitates teaching means,enri-ches the teaching content and remarkably improves the quality of experiment teaching of pathology. WSI makes teleconsultation more convenient and speedy,saving a lot of human resources and pocket,shortens the period of pathology consultation and significantly improves the quality of pathologi-cal diagnosis. There are some shortcomings,however,in application of WSI to medical education and pathological consultation,which need to be overcome.
