Cracks found on heat exchangers E-204 and E-205 had a bad influence on safety production of catalytic cracking unit. This article introduced this corrosion and analysis was made by visual inspection, hardness testing, chemical composition analysis .Stress corrosion was the main reason for the failure. Some measures were suggested to avoid such corrosion.
