This paper selects LED patents of six cities in Pearl River Delta, the most representative LED industry area in China, as the re-search object. Through comparative analysis on the application type, IPC classification, technology clustering, industrial chain of the re-gional LED patents. It guides people to gain an insight into the competition situation between the cities, which provides a basis for develop-ment of relevant LED industrial policies by government and may promote effective coopetition between the cities in Pearl River Delta.
