Magnetization phenomenon is found in the homemade high strength steel plates used in the welding of steel penstocks in Hohhot pumped storage power station .Causes for such magnetization problem of steel plates are analyzed and demagnetization methods are discussed .Practice shows that the demagnetization methods are effective .And the pen-stocks are successfully welded after the steel plates are demagnetized .
