In the event of forced outage , unit tripping or similar accidents , the downstream water level in a hydropower station will go down rapidly , which will endanger the safety of shipping .To ensure the normal operation of shipping and the power station in such cases , emergency water supply from the floodgate to the downstream channel is necessary .In this paper , implementation details and some technical issues of the emergency water supply procedure in monitoring sys -tem of Xiangjiaba hydropower station is introduced .
