In this paper , the importance on reasonably selecting reactive power compensation switching switch and the advantage and disadvantage of the switch are mainly described throughout its performance comparison. The site application of composite switch which is generally selected at present for switching capacitor is especially analyzed and the defects existing in the application are listed. Finally, corresponding suggestions and countermeasures in improving reliability and safety of the composite switch are proposed.
