扬刺法是《内经》十二刺法之一，广泛地被应用于临床针灸。近10年来的相关文献发现其治疗神经系统疾病的效果也比较显著，而且所治疗范围也在不断扩大。传统医学认为扬刺法主要治疗浅表之寒痹，而现代医学也常用来治疗股外侧皮神经炎、臀上皮神经炎、坐骨神经痛、面肌痉挛、失眠、糖尿病周围神经病变、卒中后运动性失语、痉挛性斜颈等神经系统的疾病，进而在现代神经科临床中更好将扬刺法发扬开来。

Centro-Square needling is one of the twelve acupuncture needling methods recorded in “Yellow Emperor ’ s Inner Canon” , and is widely applied in the clinical acupuncture .It is suggested that the effect on the treatment of neurological diseases is significant by relevant literatures in recent decade , and the therapeutic range is constantly expanding .In the traditional medicine treatment it is mainly used to treat superficial cold weakness , while in modern medicine it can also be used to treat lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis , cutaneous neuritis, sciatica, hemifacial spasm, insomnia, diabetes peripheral neuropathy , anandia after aphasia, spas-modic torticollis and other nervous system diseases , and Centro-Square needling play a better role in modern neurologic clinic .
