A project of a 58m-high brick chimney demolished in the way of directional basting under the complicated environment with many buildings nearby is introduced in this paper. According to the chimney characters and surrounding environment, the blasting scheme was chosen by carful analysis and calculation, and the lasting cut, collapse direction and blasting network were determined. Also, the related effective safety protection measures were adopted and good blasting effect was achieved.
