The dynamic characteristics include natural frequencies and mode shapes, for nuclear power equipments and components, they are affect-ed by their supporting conditions. These equipments and components are often modeled as simplified mass-spring systems with ground springs. Analyzes the effects of the stiffness of ground springs on the dynamic characteristics of the corresponding system. The dynamic characteristics vary significantly with the stiffness of the ground springs. The equivalent finite element form of the ground springs is de-rived using the point collocation method with penalty coefficients. The variations of dynamic characteristics as a function of ground springs, as well as the equivalence of the penalty coefficients to the ground springs, demonstrate the effects of supporting conditions on the dynamic characteristics of the equipments and components.
