This thesis made classified discussion about the mainstream extinguishant, provides a comprehensive analysis about extinguishing mechanism, advantages and disadvantages and application range of the extinguishant according to the classification of it. It also puts forward that the development of the extinguishant in the future should be for the purpose of high efficiency, energy saving and safety. This thesis has a certain value for the design and application, and the R&D direction of extinguishant in the future.
