提起“岩井美学”，人们多是从岩井俊二作品的表现手法以及彰显个人主义和后现代主义的文化特征两方面加以论述和分析，重点褒扬其反传统性的独特美。实际上，其作品在清新平淡的外表下，始终涌动着日本人所特有的情怀，充满日本传统的自然观和审美意识，在一种物我难分、情景交融的特殊氛围和优美意境中将人物的思想感情立体地表现出来，从而自然地完成了自然美到艺术美的升华。
提起“巖井美學”，人們多是從巖井俊二作品的錶現手法以及彰顯箇人主義和後現代主義的文化特徵兩方麵加以論述和分析，重點褒颺其反傳統性的獨特美。實際上，其作品在清新平淡的外錶下，始終湧動著日本人所特有的情懷，充滿日本傳統的自然觀和審美意識，在一種物我難分、情景交融的特殊氛圍和優美意境中將人物的思想感情立體地錶現齣來，從而自然地完成瞭自然美到藝術美的升華。

Concerning about the Iwai Aesthetics ,people mostly expound and analyze Shunji Iwai's works according to the two following aspects:the technique of expression and cultural characteristics which manifest individualism and post-modernism ,they specially commend the anti-traditional unique beauty of his works .Actually , underneath the fresh and plain appearance ,a kind of feelings which is peculiar to Japanese spill over into his works all the time ,his works are meanwhile full of Japanese traditional view of nature and aesthetic consciousness ,which have delivered a vivid expression of thoughts and emotions of the figures in a special atmosphere and elegant artistic mood ,combining feeling and setting , mankind and nature together harmoniously , thus have accomplished the distillation from the beauty of nature to the beauty of art .
