This paper introduced the classification of PVD coating technology, reviewed the progress of research on application of PVD coating technology in the field of stamping/ molding, extrusion, drawing, plastic, and aluminum alloy mold and prospected the future of rapid development of PVD coating technology which will be more widely applied in the field of molding.
