对滇中地区9县（市）16个点野生何首乌的生境进行了调查。结果表明：何首乌广泛分布于滇中地区海拔1400～2100 m及光照强度5000～10000 lx的疏林、灌木丛或路边、田边、土坎上；适于生长在光照充足、空气湿度较大、土壤有机质含量高、质地疏松、保水和排水性良好、土层深厚、微酸到中性的壤土或砂壤土上；稀疏灌木林伴生能保障何首乌正常生长对光照的需求。
대전중지구9현（시）16개점야생하수오적생경진행료조사。결과표명：하수오엄범분포우전중지구해발1400～2100 m급광조강도5000～10000 lx적소림、관목총혹로변、전변、토감상；괄우생장재광조충족、공기습도교대、토양유궤질함량고、질지소송、보수화배수성량호、토층심후、미산도중성적양토혹사양토상；희소관목림반생능보장하수오정상생장대광조적수구。
The habitats of wild Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.at 16 locations of 9 counties (cities) in the central region of Yunnan province were investigated .The results showed that Polygonum multiflorum was widely distributed in the sparse forests , shrubs, or on the roadsides, field sides and land ridges with the elevation of 1400~2100 m and the light intensity of 5000~10000 lx in central Yunnan;the suitable conditions for the growth of this plant were sufficient sunshine , high air humidity , and slightly a-cidic~neutral loam or sandy loam with high organic matter content , loose texture , good water -holding and drainage capacity , thick soil layer;the accompanying sparse shrubbery could guarantee the sunshine demand for the normal growth of Polygonum multi-florum.
