In the city of old Nanjing,the areas of historical landscape are“surfaces”,the historical streets are“lines”and the historical buildings are“points”. In order to protect them as an integrated landscape,not only the“surfaces”and the“points”need to be defined and protected,but also effective conservation planning for linear historical landscape need to be considered.
