The paper introduces the origins and development of eaves tiles adornment in the south of Yunnan ancient building, illustrates the types and distribution of the eaves tiles adornment, analyzes the implied meanings of those tiles with lines of long lifespan, animal life, plants and abstract patterns, and proves the historical traces of harmonious development between human being and nature at the area.
