数字城市是社会发展的必然趋势，数字城市建设中地图数据的显示和表达也是一项重要的工作，已有的地图数据分级显示方法在遇到图层要素数目很大、要素空间分布不均匀等情况时，存在要素过渡不自然、局部聚集等现象，本文提出了基于四叉树编码的要素分级显示过滤技术很好的解决不自然过渡要素显示的问题，与人工地图分级过滤相比，极大的提高了工作效率。

Digital City is the inevitable trend of social development ,the presentation of the map data also makes an important part of Digital City proccess .Traditional methods of hierarchical display can not be evenly distributed when elements of spatial inhomogeneity or large number .This paper presents the technology of four binary tree coding filter ,which successfully solve the problems in the current situation ,and greatly improves the efficency compared with filtering elements manually .
