The technical features of several kinds of submarine jet trenchers were introduced , including jet sled , self-propelled crawling trencher , ROV trencher and controlled flow excavation equipment .The authors believe that the jet sled is suitable for pipe-line or cable burying in shallow water , the self propelled crawling trencher and ROV trencher is designed for pipeline and cable bur-ying in deep water area , and the controlled flow excavation equipment is fit for almost all soil types except rock seabed .Design of intelligent, large-scaling, wide adaptability, and high efficiency submarine trenchers will be the developing trends in the future .
