唐文治先生是我国近现代著名教育家，他的学校体育思想及实践是他办学思想与实践的重要组成部分。他坚持“德、智、体、美”四育并举，认为发展学校体育可以促进德育和智育的发展，达到多种目的；他非常重视体育在人才培养中的作用，亲自主管学校体育，课程设置兼顾中西之长，严格教学管理，科学训练，端赖名师；大力支持学校体育组织和团体的发展以及课外体育活动、体育竞赛的开展，现身见教。唐文治学校体育思想及实践对当前我国高校体育改革与发展具有重要的借鉴意义。

Mr. Tang Wen -zhi was a famous educator in the modern educational history of China,and his physical education and practice are important components of his school -running idea and practice. He held the idea that moral,intellectual,physical and aesthetic education should all be attached importance to;it can promote the development of moral and intellectual education to develop physical education so that several important aims can be achieved. He paid great attention to the role that physical education plays in talent training,he was in charge of physical education in person,valued western useful experience as well as Chinese tradition in physical education curriculum design;He was strict in instruction management, taught students in accordance with their aptitude and employed qualified teachers;supported the development of sports organizations and groups, encouraged extracurricular sports activities and competitions and practiced what he advocated;As a result, he made great pioneering contributions to physical education in modern China and his physical education thought and practice also bring important enlightenment to the reform and development of current college physical education.
