为了适应现代化社会，高水平的数学教育理念已成了社会发展的必然要求，这就要求数学教育工作者从社会文化角度对数学进行理解。文章阐述了对社会文化的理解，数学理解与社会文化的关系，以及通过对数e的理解进而说明在一定的社会文化下理解数学的必要性。
