The Internet of things has become one of the worldwide strategic high grounds in a new round of economic and technological development, which needs vocational colleges to cultivate talented persons of the internet of things application technology. This paper takes Guangzhou City Polytechnic as an example, puts forward the necessity, feasibility and major development plans of setting the internet of things application technology major in higher vocational colleges.
