桂林有4000多年的历史文化积累起来的和谐文化传统，体现在人与自然，不同文化传统之间，各民族人民之间的和谐、德治、慈孝、仁敬、互助、友爱、善良……。今天桂林国际旅游胜地建设正全面展开，除了硬件建设外，还需要有软件建设，应大力提倡、继承、弘扬优秀的历史文化，加强公民的思想文化道德和社会主义核心价值观的建设，使桂林的公民具有和谐友善、克己利他、爱国奉献的道德情操。

계림유4000다년적역사문화적루기래적화해문화전통，체현재인여자연，불동문화전통지간，각민족인민지간적화해、덕치、자효、인경、호조、우애、선량……。금천계림국제여유성지건설정전면전개，제료경건건설외，환수요유연건건설，응대력제창、계승、홍양우수적역사문화，가강공민적사상문화도덕화사회주의핵심개치관적건설，사계림적공민구유화해우선、극기이타、애국봉헌적도덕정조。
Guilin has harmonious cultural tradition accumulated by more than 4,000 years of history and cul-ture.Harmony,virtue,filial piety,benevolence,respect,morality,mutual aid,friendship,and kindness are embodied in man and nature,between different cultural traditions and between people of all ethnic groups.Today,the construction of Guilin international tourist destination is in full swing.In addition to hardware construction,software construction is also needed.Excellent history and culture should be vigor-ously promoted,inherited and carried forward.Moral and cultural education and the outlook of socialist core values should be strengthened so as to make Guilin citizens have the moral sentiments of friendliness,unself-ishness,patriotism and dedication.
