For the variety and complexity of fault types and fault detection and diagnosis(FDI) methods for inverter circuit in motor drive system, the fault modes are analyzed in detail. The present domestic and foreign research progress of inverter open circuit FDI is systematically demonstrated. The FDI methods of inverter circuit are summarized, and its advantages and disadvantages are also analyzed. On the basis of this, the development trend is put forward.
