By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the variable-frequence governor,hy-draulic coupling governor and the permanent magnet drive speeder,the permanent magnet speed control technology was applied to conduct retrofit for induced draft (ID)fans in boiler of a power plant.After the transformation,the unit can save 609 000 yuan per year,meaning the investment can be recovered within less than two years;the vibration amplitude of the air fan decreased by 83%,and the noise dropped by 35%.
