This paper first introduces the latest devel-opment status and discusses the development trends of mobile satellite communication systems. Then it intro-duces the radio interfaces for the satellite component of IMT-2000 and IMT-Advanced, especially BMSat radio interface technology which was proposed by Chi-na for the satellite component of IMT-Advanced. Fi-nally, it analyzes the future trends of mobile satellite communication systems in China.
