T his article briefly introduces the basicideas of Catastrophe T heory ,and constructs a valuation in-dex system of city tourism competitive power according to catastrophe progression method (CPM ) .And then it uses the index system and CPMto evaluate the city tourism competitive power of the cities in Pearl River Delta .After the comparative analysis of these citiesbased on the results ,it puts forward some proposals to enhance the tourism competitive power of the cities in Pearl River Delta .
