The paper introduces the substation and power supply and distribution system designs during the planning and scheme design ( including the preliminary design) of the residential area, mainly content: correctly estimating the power consumption of each building, determining the number and location of substations as well as the capacity and number of transformers and determining the loop number of HV power supply, connection method for circuits and setting of emergency power supply.
