原本仅是学术评价的通用指标之一，在被引入我国的大约30年时间里，《科学引文索引》（science citation index ，SCI）却留下了一个从被学人崇拜到备受质疑的角色转变的微妙轨迹，形成了SCI现象。这一现象揭示了：作为体现学术同行评价理念的一个具体指标，SCI不是万能的；但如果它被官本位评价机制融入其中，那么，它就会走向神化，即SCI学术评价指标功能异化为崇拜对象；而被错配并异化的SCI则会进一步强化官本位评价机制，成为学术不端行为的强化型催化剂。所以，研究SCI现象，目的并非否定它本身，而是要以研究学术不端行为为突破口，找到改革官本位科研评价机制乃至管理体制的路径，最终使SCI回归到它本应所在的学术本位评价机制之中去，发挥正常作用。

Intented only as one common indicator of academic evaluation ,science citation index (SCI) has left a subtle trajectory of role changing from the worship to the doubt after being introduced into China for three decades ,and SCI phenomenon is formatted .This phenomenon reveals that as a specific indicator of the academic peer review ,SCI is not a panacea .However ,if it is integrated into one of the official standard evaluation mechanisms ,it would lead to deification , which is that academic evaluation function is alienated as worship object .As mismatched and alienated ,SCI will further strengthen the official standard evaluation mechanism , becoming the catalyst to strengthen academic misconduct . Therefore ,the study of SCI phenomenon is not intended to negate itself ,by researching the academic misconduct as a breakthrough ,but to find eventually the path to reform the official standard evaluation mechanism as well as the management system ,to return to academic evaluation mechanism of SCI which should play a normal role .
