In the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the investment on rural highway construction increases greatly in China, and the rural highway construction projects in concentrated distributed areas are imple-mented. In order to understand the technical standards of construction, the rural highway construction ar-eas are categorized into four types combining with the reality of rural highway construction in poor area. The technical standards are confirmed according to the classification for optimizing the use of resources and constructing economical, environment-friendly and safe rural highway.
