湘西地区山脉众多，河流密布，地形起伏大，山高路陡，以中山和台地为主，山水间有小盆地，是我国西部典型的山区。湘西山地型小城镇建筑景观风貌的形成是各个历史发展时期城镇建设过程中形成的，印有历史文化的烙印，深受当地的地域地形、气候、生产方式的影响，彰显出特有的生命力。本文以湘西为代表，从湘西建筑的地域性特点、湘西人的生态建筑审美倾向、城镇建筑景观的空间形态三方面探究了西部山地型小城镇建筑景观的设计方法问题，从而唤起大众对保护各地小城镇建筑景观风貌的关注。

Xiangxi has many mountains and rivers, undulating terrain, high mountains and steep road, mainly to medium mountain and platform, a smal basin landscape,is the typical mountainous area in west China. The formation of architecture landscape styles in Xiangxi’s mountain-type smal towns is during the various historical development periods in the process of urban construction, with the history and culture of the brand, are wel received by the local geographical terrain, climate, the influence of the production mode, reveal a unique vitality. The paper takes Xiangxi as a representative, from its regionality of the architecture characteristics, the ecological aesthetic tendency of its people, urban landscape space, the three aspects, to study the architectural landscape styles’ design methods of the smal towns in the western mountain, so as to arouse the public at ention to protection of smal towns al over.
