Schema theory is not only widely used in the teaching of English reading comprehension, but also it should play a role in the teaching of listening comprehension. Based on empirical research, by summarizing schema theory and schema theory of listening, this dissertation verifies the correlation between back-ground knowledge and listening comprehension level,reveals the influence of schema theory of listening on the listening achieve-ments of English majors, and explores its implications in the field of English listening teaching.
