本文从教育部“一般要求”的角度出发，针对目前在大学生英语教学中普遍存在误用和忽视英汉词典的现象，分别就教与学两方面进行归因剖析，并探讨改进之策。

This paper discussed a common phenomenon for col-lege students that they tend to misuse the dictionary and ignore the importance of using one. According to the requirement of the Ministry of Education, the author provided a descriptive analysis on these matters based on the aspect of teaching and studying. At the end, some advices and strategies have been provided for fur-ther discussion.
