隧道维护管理作业旨在查明影响服务功能的异状、掌握其变异性或发展性，并评估其对隧道功能性与服务性、结构安全性与耐久性的影响程度，使及早因应并符合永续发展理念。为实现现代化铁路隧道全生命周期维护管理目标，必须考虑隧道周围环境、地盘条件、施工质量及衬砌结构状况，运营过程可能承受的荷载变化以及维护管理需求等因素，研定一纲要性基本要求，供铁路隧道管理单位依据个案需求与隧道状况，进一步纳入配套措施研拟完整的实施细则，以供维护管理以至于安全检测作业的依据。本文报导台湾隧道工程界在此一领域近年的工作进展。

Tunnel maintenance and management work aimed to identify and document the variability or development of anomalies that affect tunnel service,and evaluate its influences on tunnel functionality,serviceability,structural safety and durability in order to respond according to the idea of sustainable use as soon as possible.In order to achieve the goal of complete life cycle maintenance and management for modern railway tunnel,factors including tunnel surrounding environment,geological conditions,construction quality,conditions of lining structure,possible loading variation during operation,requirements for maintenance and management were considered to propose an outline of basic requirements to serve as a reference for tunnel maintenance,management and inspection .The outline can also be modified according to individual needs and conditions to include supporting measures and detail commentates.This study reports the progress and the-state-of-the-art of structural maintenance for rock tunnels in Taiwan.
