面对目前铁矿石纷繁复杂的国际贸易形势，我国尚缺乏有效的战略保护和协调机制，缺乏基础性的综合质量信息平台，在进口铁矿贸易中，我国常处于较为被动的地位，使国家经济利益得不到应有的保障、国内企业遭受巨大的损失。为此，开发进口铁矿石信息系统，通过全面收集、统计、整理和分析进口铁矿质量检验和贸易信息，为不同类型的用户提供功能完备的浏览和查询，满足不同层次的需求。
