The water and soil salinization is one of the important factors that restrict and influence the regional development. In order to solve the problem of the salinization of Zuli River basin, the distribution and salinization of the brine and salt soil in the basin were studied by the methods of correlation. The results show that the water and soil salinization of the Zuli River basin are mutual constraint, mutual influence and mutual trans-formation. There is extremely significant logarithmic relation between them, and the correlation coefficient is 0. 812 5. The distribution of the brine and salt soil has significant spatial differential features, where salt content increases gradually from upstream to downstream and the north bank of the river is more than that of the south bank. Longitudinal also shows a significant phenomenon that the salt is accumulated to the surface water and soil surface. Saline water in the river basin is from the brine water to salt water from upstream to downstream and the saline soil is also from weak salt saline soil to saline soil. The soluble salt is 0. 5% ~0. 8% of the soil-forming parent materials that is a key source of salt in the basin. The arid and semi-arid special climate condition, soil types, topography and human activities have speeded up the process of salinization of the basin.
