Introduction was made to a fault actual example of a set of main transformer. This paper analyzed oil spectrum tracking data and adopted a variety of judgement methods to consider that there was possible of transformer with multiple spots grounding fault taking place, and tieup examination proved spectrum analysis conclusion. According to site conditions, an iron core pressure adding method was adopted to have trouble shooting. The AC withstanding voltage test shows that the iron core multiple spots grounding faults have been shoot out. Combined with trouble shooting process, this paper gave the prevention measures to ensure normal transformer operation.
